Filling The Missing Gap: How To Outperform And Achieve More

The problem is not often that we know so little. It's not often that we are not sufficiently capable. It's rather that we're oftentimes,  not executing.

We come up with big ideas, great inspirations. But we let them remain  ideas.

We let self doubt sit triumphant. We let actions go undone. And deny ourselves the joy of achieving something that would have made us proud.

Not a smart way to live and thrive.

"The fear that fuels our doubt can drive us to be over cautious and keep us from taking the very actions that would help us and serve others

That's certainly not what we want. So, what's the way forward?

"If you hear a voice within you say ‘You cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced." says Van Gogh.

This  offers us a template for filling the missing gap-- Take action. And it doesn't have to be a perfect action. Nah nah. It doesn't have to be a perfect action.

The action we take doesn't need to be perfect.  This is another area where the 'don't embarrass yourself' little advocate sits and calmly waits.

So, in order not to mess things up or do a poor job, nothing gets done.

When you spend all your time and energy trying to manage other peoples’ perception of you, you'll get stuck in an inadequacy loop. There will always be someone who appears to be doing better, getting further or having more. Do not benchmark yourself against others’ accomplishments and possessions.

People who are afraid to fail never move forward or grow, personally and professionally. We need to push ourselves to act, if we wish to see any change , for the better. The more you push yourself, the more you'll realize what you are capable of.

I'm learning to understand that my problem is not that I make a blunder. it couldn't be a problem. it offers me a good learning experience.

Even if something doesn't work out, that doesn't give me the leave to lose more. A sure way to waste time is by beating yourself up and choosing to feel miserable. Instead of  giving yourself permission to move on.
