While working remotely for companies in UK and US, Victor Alade had challenges getting his pay on time because he would have to manually send invoices and wait days for the international money transfer to be delivered.
He wàs losing 15% of his salary to transfer charges and unfavorable exchange rates
And he missed out on several jobs as there were no reliable ways through which he could be compliantly employed and get paid.
These inspired him to launch Raenest to help companies easily onboard African talents, and enable remote workers and freelancers in Africa automate invoicing and get paid globally at NO transaction charges.
Raenest is now used by workers at Upwork, Toptal, Andela, Fiverr, Tunga.
The firm won a seat at Techstars Toronto accelerator, got $120,000 (90.2 million naira) funding and has also raised a pre-seed funding round from ten investors including Ventures Platform, Seedstars, TCVP, Ajim Capital, and other VCs and angels.
